About the Cantavals atelier: how a song is made

What is Cantavals?

An online atelier for personalised songs, at www.cantavals.com. For a wedding, the song can be for your first dance, for your entrance or as a thank-you to your parents. You can order it for the two of you, for your godparents, for your parents, or as a gift for another couple. From the same story we can also make a song for the proposal and one for a wedding anniversary.

How is a song made?

Three stages.

1. Your story. You tell it in a chat with Trilo, the atelier's AI assistant, on the website or on WhatsApp. Trilo asks about the two of you: how you met, which places and small details matter.
2. The lyrics. They are written in our atelier from your story. If you quote lyrics from an existing song, we do not reproduce them; we capture the moment in new words (Terms §1).
3. The music and the vocals. They are generated with AI technology from specialised third-party music-composition suppliers, guided by our craft rules (Terms §2).

At the end you listen to a free preview of your song and only pay if you like it. For an example of an atelier song, listen to Kilometrul 30, a pop ballad in Romanian.

Who does what: you, the atelier, the machine?

We would rather you knew exactly how your song came to be.

You bring what no software has: the story, the names, the places, the details. You also pick the style and the language, listen to the preview, decide whether to buy, choose the version you prefer and ask for rewrites.

The machine does two things. Trilo, who runs the conversation, is an AI assistant and introduces itself as one. The music and the vocals are generated with AI.

The atelier sets the rules the song is made by: how a story becomes lyrics and how the music is guided. We call them our craft rules.

Our songs are made with AI and we say so in plain sight: in the footer of every page ("Songs are composed with AI music technology, guided by our songwriting atelier") and in our Terms. The files carry an AI marker.

Which languages and styles can the song be in?

Songs can be sung in 4 languages: Romanian, English, Spanish and Italian. The website itself is available in 24 languages, but that covers the pages only, not the songs.

There are 7 styles to choose from: Classic waltz, Modern pop ballad, Acoustic folk, Latin romantic, Soul / R&B, Party anthem and Surprise switch, which starts tender and erupts into a party.

What do you get?

Before you pay, a free preview of your song. After payment, with the "Your First Dance" package (89 €): two complete versions of the song (A and B), the written lyrics, an MP3 download and the song's own page. 2 rewrites are included, and every paid order adds 3 new songs to your account. A studio-quality WAV file and the instrumental version are paid extras.

For weddings there is also "The Whole Evening" (299 €): three songs for three moments of the wedding night, WAV for all three and an instrumental of the main song. A proposal or anniversary song costs the same as "Your First Dance".

The license is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable, worldwide and with no end date. You can play the song at private events, your wedding included, use it in your own photos and videos, and post it on your personal social media accounts. Commercial use is not included. The song is never resold and never composed again for another customer. Under current US and EU law, music generated entirely with AI is not eligible for copyright, so we do not promise exclusive copyright in the composition (Terms §2).
